Abyssopelagic
The abyss, outstretching darkness and the absolute unknown. The abyss originated from a Greek word that means ‘no bottom’. the water at these depths is freezing with absolute darkness surrounding it. Yet, in these lethal depths, creatures reside. Most of these are invertebrates including the basket star and tiny squids. Three-quarters of the ocean floor lies in this zone. It extends to 6000m (19886ft.).
